Myself and Sophie presented our pitch to the group. We choose to present as I would like to improve my public speaking and Sophie was already confident with speaking in front of a group.

Before the presentation our group met to discuss what Sophie and I would say. We wrote a brief script of bullet points and key information. We wanted to avoid reading from notes for the whole pitch but make sure we didn't exclude key points.

Script:

Introduction
We wanted to create an environment that gets students excited about the work they are doing. We will do this by updating the visuals to something more relevant to what goes on in the building

Rationale:
Clean, bright, modern wayfinding system that incorporates natural and sustainable aspects in order to fit in with the new build. The system uses colour to separate the individual floor, helping with ease of human interaction and incorporating neon lights to brighten up the university, generating a creative environment.

Inspirations:
Neon lights (different, feature, share on social media)

Initial Ideas:
Visually inclined people will be more likely to respond to visual aids rather than text on a page.

Designs:
Neon Numbers, wall stickers. Each floor is highlighted when you are on that particular floor.

Typeface:
We used Tablet Gothic throughout the design. We chose this typeface because it is a clear and legible font that works well at a distance. The sans serif style means it will sit well next to the neon number outline.

We chose a spectrum of colours, with cooler colours for the ground floors working up to red on the top floor. This gives each floor an identity.

Toilet signs and other signage will be the same colour as the floor it is on.

Materials:
Neon lights for floor number. Acrylic blocks will be used for toilet signs and studio numbers. Studio numbers will also be back lit to make them stand out and promote consistency. Wall stickers will be used to show what is on each floor and directional information.

Mock Ups:
Stair cases will have a feature wall of the colour associated with that floor.

Details:
Sustainable features, chalk boards, less paper waste.
Decorative features - colour specific items.

Closing Statement:
Our design is fun, bright and easily understood. Its functional without being intrusive.
Thank you for listening.
