GLUG
6A2, 6B2, 6D2
We went to a Glug Leeds event at Duke Studio. The event focuses on collaboration.
I was interested to hear about other peoples experience with collaboration.
We Love This
A creative-led experiential agency.
They spoke about there collaboration with Seagulls paint store. They knew that their industry of set design is very wasteful and seagulls were keen to collaborate. They created a plastic-free store where everything in the store was waste products of previous We Love This projects.
other talks were from:
Matt Lamont of Foxduo
who has an extensive collection of design books and likes to collaborate with the client on work.
Amy Heycock
who is an Australian photographer now based at Duke Studios
She discussed how photographers can be collaborated with to influence the audience. For example, a photo taken from a low angle shows that the subject has power over the viewer.
Paul and Emily from Studio Duo
they spoke about there work for Harrogate Turkish baths. They collaborated with the council, photographers and filmmakers.
Paul McGuigan
Thompson Brand Partners
Branding Agency in Leeds
They played a role in bringing channel 4 to Leeds. All in Leeds.
The Glug talk took place in Duke Studios in Leeds.
Duke studios is a creative space, they provide a collaborative workspace and facilities for individuals and companies working in the creative industry.
I went to the talk with Jack. During the breaks and at the end of the talks we aimed to chat to as many creatives as we could, more as an exercise in bravery than anything else. We did quite well and spoke to the guest speakers we wanted to. We spoke to the owners of Duke studio and I spoke to Amy Heycock about how she got into the industry.
